Transferring a domain name from one registrar company to another traditionally entails the use of a unique domain authorization code, which different registrar companies call an EPP authorization code, a domain name password or an Auth-Info code. This code can be used as a safety measure against unwanted transfer attempts with all gTLD and with most ccTLD extensions. The code can be obtained only by the domain name registrant and is issued by the current registrar. It must be given to the new domain registrar company because the transfer cannot be initiated without it. The code is case-sensitive and frequently contains digits and special symbols, so as to hinder unauthenticated persons from cracking it. Some companies even reset the codes of domain names registered through them every now and then for even better security.
EPP Transfer Protection in Hosting
You can obtain the EPP transfer code for any domain name that you’ve registered through our company with only several mouse clicks from the exact same Hepsia Control Panel that you will use to administer your hosting account. As soon as you go to the Registered Domains section, you will see all your domains neatly listed in alphabetical order. In case some extension supports transfers between domain registrars with an EPP code, you will see an EPP button on the right side of the given domain name. If you click that button, the code will be sent to the email address associated with the Registrant contact for the given domain dame. If you want, you can edit the contact details, including the email address, without needing to leave this section of the Control Panel, in case the currently entered email is no longer valid.
